Fine Art Portfolios presents a new and exciting addition to my line of fine art photographic prints. Folios are a unique way of collecting and viewing fine art photography. Instead of large prints for displaying on walls, folios comprise a selection of images representing a central theme. They are hand-made, contain anywhere from 12 original prints, and are small enough to be viewed hand-held. Portfolios can be a low-cost entry into the rewarding world of art collecting and can act as a springboard for obtaining larger display prints.

Newfoundland, Sea, Sky, Land, and Ice Fine Art Portfolio

My initial offering in fine art portfolios is Newfoundland, Sea, Sky, Land, and Ice. This folio comprises twelve black and white images representing my first trip to Newfoundland and Labrador in April 2023.

All of the elements in the title of this portfolio comprise the essence of Newfoundland, affectionately known by locals as The Rock. Each image was carefully chosen to illustrate these elements and the raw and rugged nature of Newfoundland.

National Parks Fine Art Portfolio

Wallace Stegner once said, “National parks are the best idea we ever had. Absolutely American, absolutely democratic, they reflect us at our best rather than our worst.”

This portfolio features 12 images from several of our western national parks and represents some of my best national park imagery made in the past few years. But this portfolio is meant to be more than just a collection of pretty pictures. It is my sincere hope that these images will inspire viewers to realize a deeper appreciation, care, and concern not just for our national parks, but our entire world.

Today, our wilderness areas have become mere islands in an ever-encroaching sea of humanity and development. Every year, nearly every wilderness area breaks the previous year’s record of visitation. Increasingly, reservations, or even lotteries, are required months in advance for planning a multi-day backpacking trip. The three wilderness areas that encompass the Wind River Range of Wyoming are some of the last places in the lower 48 states where a backpacker has the freedom to just show up and begin a trip without a reservation or permit.
